Loyola International School goes Around the World in its Annual Day Celebration
The Annual Day celebration at Loyola International School was a true spectacle with a theme of “SAMYATI” – Journey Around the World. The students showcased diverse cultures and countries through their mesmerizing dances and performances, leaving the audience spellbound.
We were honored to have H.E. Gautam Bhattacharyya, the Ambassador of Sweden to the State of Qatar, as our Chief Guest. The event was held at Al Arabi Sport Center and was a huge success, receiving thunderous applause from everyone in attendance.
The students brought the celebration to a close with a powerful rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Heal the World,” reminding us all of the importance of coming together to create a better future for ourselves and generations to come. The Annual Day celebration was a resounding success, showcasing the students’ talents and the school’s commitment to excellence.
“REFLECTIONS 2022 – Loyola International School’s 6th Annual Arts & Science Exhibition (Al Nasr branch) – Attaining Synergy between Quality Education and Stimulating Innovation!
The Exhibition held in the school premises on 28th October 2022 provided a platform where students displayed hands-on experience of the concepts that they otherwise study only theoretically. The school saw innumerable projects that displayed the amalgamation of critical thinking and creative skills of the students and the teachers. Students showed their mastery as they explained their projects with immense enthusiasm.
Education Fair – brought in the “Fair-like” ambience with handmade selfie booths, vibrant decorations, and stalls of games and food.”
Loyola being a multicultural space of students from various parts of the world celebrates festivals from all over and exercise inclusivity. Celebrating Easter, one of the most important festivals of the Christian calendar, and learning about manifestation of victory of truth over evil, co curricular activities were conducted in the school premises. Making bunnies and colouring the Easter Bunny while learning about the festival spread joy, encouraged focus, and nurtured creativity.
Eid Activity
Ramadan: The holiest month of the year in Islamic culture; Time for spiritual reflection and growth; Time to help those in need; Time when Muslims abstain from physical pleasures during the daylight hours; Time to reflect on one’s life, seeking to become closer to God and to lead a more virtuous life.
Understanding the essence of this rich culture and celebrating its beautiful traditions, students of Loyola International School participated in various activities. Students coloured beautiful pictures, made beautiful lanterns, cards and wall hangings. They decorated their classes with their handicrafts and celebrated the feeling of togetherness.
Father’s Day Celebration
DAD: A Son’s First Hero and a Daughter’s First Love; the one who guides us throughout our lives; someone we look up to no matter how tall we grow! Their contribution in the family is unfathomable. Loyola International School pays respect and shows gratitude to all the real life superheroes by celebrating Father’s Day.
Students wrote down and shared their best memories with their dad; presented handmade “Best Dad” badge to their father; wrote the things they are grateful for and put it in the “Gratitude Jar”; prepared Flip Books to show the bond they shared with their fathers and kindergarteners dressed like their super-dads and made key-chains for them!! Fathers were showered with love and respect through these activities and truly brought out the essence of Father’s Day!
Gandhi Jayanthi
Gandhiji (Father of the Nation – India) believed non-violence and tolerance require great courage and patience. In a world that is moving through the phases of war marred by violence and terrorism, there is a significant requirement for Gandhian idea of Non- violence more today than in the past.
With the gratitude that we all have towards Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi for introducing new principals and having lead the country to independence, his birth anniversary is celebrated as a national pride. Loyola International School paid tribute to this exemplar by conducting various activities in the school.
A special assembly was conducted by the students starting with a patriotic song by the school choir and many other beautiful performances instilled patriotism and gave the opportunity to the children to work on their stage presence.
The Fancy Dress Competition for grades 1 & 2 was a delightful spectacle, with miniature versions of Gandhi Ji and other national leaders walking around. It was a joy to see these young children dressed up as important figures from India’s history. The Poster Making Competition allowed students to unleash their creativity and express their thoughts, while the Elocution Competition and Debates for the higher grades helped students develop important public speaking and presentation skills.
Overall, the day was a celebration of Gandhi Ji’s legacy and the values he espoused, such as non-violence, tolerance, and courage. It was a fitting tribute to the man who led India to independence and continues to inspire people around the world
International Nurses Day
Every year on May 12th, International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world to honor the incredible work of nurses and healthcare workers. This year, the theme of International Nurses Day is “Nurses: A Voice to Lead – Invest in Nursing and Respect Rights to Secure Global Health.” Loyola International School celebrated by conducting a variety of activities, including students dressing up as nurses and thanking them for their dedication and sacrifice. The nurses and healthcare workers who are on the frontlines saving lives are truly inspiring and deserve our respect and admiration.
Teacher’s Day Al-Nasr
Teacher’s Day is an annual celebration in honor of teachers and the important role they play in shaping the minds of young people. It is held on September 5th, the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a philosopher, statesman, and renowned teacher. Teachers are the second mothers of their students, guiding and nurturing them with love and firmness. They inspire hope, ignite imagination, and instil a love of learning.
On this special day, Loyola International School honored Teachers, their hard work and dedication. Students celebrated their teachers by creating beautiful, colourful cards for them. Students made handmade flower bouquets, pop-up cards, and gifts for their teachers, and expressed their adoration for them. The enthusiasm and creativity of the students to celebrate the sacred relationship of a teacher and student made it a special day for everyone.
The Hindi Department of Loyola International School – Al-Nasr Campus recently hosted Hindi Diwas.
Hindi Diwas is celebrated on 14th September every year in India to promote and propagate the official language. Hindi is also the fourth most spoken language in the world after English, Spanish, and Mandarin.
The event was graced by Managing Director Mr. R. Anup Chakravarthy, Operational Director Mr. Sarat Koduru, Principal Mr. P.K.V. Prasad, Vice Principal Ms. Mou Bera, students, parents and teachers.
Hindi language specialist Dr. Sima Chaudhury was the chief guest of the event, Dr. Chaudhury appreciated the effort of the students and won the heart of the audience with her recitation.
Vice Principal, Ms. Mou Bera welcomed the gathering. Students regaled their virtual audience with melodious Hindi songs, energetic recitation of Hindi poems and eloquent speeches. Audio-visuals were presented that highlighted the historical significance of Hindi Diwas.
World Environment Day Al-Nasr
World Environment Day is a global celebration that raises awareness about the importance of protecting the planet and its natural resources. As the population grows and economic development continues to increase, the exploitation of natural resources has led to pollution and degradation of the environment, threatening the delicate ecosystem and biodiversity. It is the responsibility of all of us to take action to protect the environment and ensure a sustainable future.
This year, Lal Cares & Mohanlal Fans Online Unit, Qatar, partnered with Loyola International School to celebrate World Environment Day. The members of Lal Cares & Mohanlal Fans Online Unit presented trees and joined the students of Loyola in planting them. It was a meaningful experience for all of us to come together and take action to make a positive impact on the planet. We are proud to be agents of change and to do our part in protecting the environment.
